64CSR30 Fees for Permits Change
Please take notice that the WV Legislature, during the spring session 2020, approved 64CSR30 Fees for Permits for the Environmental Health Section. The Hampshire County Board of Health approved the new fees to the limit allowed, effective July 1, 2021. Permits issued on or after that date, including fixed date permits with renewal dates of July 1, will require the new fee in accordance with the Legislative rule. We will be receiving written comments regarding the revised fee schedule no later than 4:00 P.M. on May 7, 2021. The Board will review all comments at the May 11, 2021 meeting. Comments must be provided in writing to: Hampshire County Health Department, Attn: Environmental, 16189 Northwestern Pike Augusta WV 26704. THIS NOTICE IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE IN THE FORM OF A LEGAL NOTICE.

School Required Immunizations for Adolescents

West Virginia law requires a Tdap booster and meningococcal vaccine for students entering 7th grade. The Tdap booster adds additional protection against tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). The meningococcal vaccine protects against meningitis types A,C,W and Y.
Students entering the 12th grade must have a second meningococcal vaccination (the first being given in 7th grade unless coming from another state who didn't require). The second meningococcal vaccination adds additional protection against meningitis.

In addition, we highly recommend HPV vaccination to protect against certain cancers, Men B vaccination to protect against the meningitis B strain which is not included in the initial meningitis shot, and Hepatitis A vaccine.

Our nurses will be holding immunization clinics at both middle schools and high school in March. To take advantage of this convenient access to immunizations, please complete the required form and return to the school nurse.
